Bean & Hop, Earlsfield

bean and hop brunch earlsfield

Oh, brunch.

The sweet joy of sleepy weekend mornings (or y’know, every morning if poss). Despite my bank weeping at £6 for a slither of avo on sourdough, there ain’t nothing better than a sexy hunk of a lay in, followed by venturing out for smooth coffee and a menu full of dreams with ya main man / gals.

Tooting’s brunch scene is smokin’, (my current faves are MUD, TOTA and Brickwood) but I have tried ’em all 12398 times. Matt spotted a beaut looking spot on up the road in Earlsfield, so we got up, dressed and hopped on the bus. 10 mins later (slightly hangin’, V hungry) we arrived at Bean & Hop.

Bean meaning coffee, hop meaning beer (over 60 different types of the stuff, FYI) hair of the dog and all that?

We bagged a breezy table outside, ordered coffee and pondered over the menu. (don’t click that link if ya hungry hehe).

I also pondered all the dreamy lookin’ grub on other tables. Stacks of fluffy pancakes, hollandaise eggs, avo errythang. OOFT. The food envy is always so real.

I am usually a pancake kinda gal, but after a night groovin’ at Tooting Tram & Social (SUCH a fun night out), I fancied a lil summin’ summin’ healthy and nutritious to soothe my soul.

After a lot of umming and aahhhing I went for the sweet potato, aubergine and halloumi stack (any mention of halloumi I’m aaaall over it) with spicy beetroot pesto on a peppery rocket salad.

Matt went with the smashed avocado, coriander, lime, sauteed chorizo, eggs sunny side up on sourdough. Definitely the best choice (if ya ain’t a veggie obvs).

We also ordered hash brown balls for him and a big ole side of smashed avo for me (basic bitch and I don’t care who knows it.)

I must say, FRIGGIN’ delish.

Very impressed the hash brown balls too. What is brunch with out those bad boys?

We polished off every single smidgen, chilled out, chinwagged and dog watched. We are V dog broody for a caramel brown cocker spaniel right now, one of these days ey?

P.S if you also like pizza (who doesn’t?) they do pizza nights every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

The interior is also really lovely, and of course the staff…

We followed brunch with the new Spiderman film at the cinema (SO good!) All in all, a bloomin’ lovely Sunday date day <3
