May Love List

I know, I start each love list with something along the lines of ‘WHAT DA HELL, WHERE DA TIME EVEN GO?’ but srsly. What da fuq?

We are half way through 2K17 and I’m gonna go and say it… We are defo in summer now. It officially starts on the 21st of June but y’know, white choc magnums are being eaten almost daily so y’know, we’re pretty much there right?

As I write this post, I still feel heartbroken by the awful events that happened in Manchester last week. I wasn’t sure whether to mention it on the blog, as this space corner of the internet is here for positivity, I don’t want to focus on the darkness.

What I do want to focus on is the incredible levels of togetherness and warmth that has come from such a dark time. The way people stand together, drenching the city of Manchester with kindness, generosity, pizza deliveries and tea (always tea). That’s what really matters. My heart goes out to the beautiful souls who lost their life, and every single person who has been affected. This is your world, here for you to enjoy. Please don’t let this madness define the way you live your life. <3

I’m gonna focus on positive moments, so here is what has made me happy this past four weeks…

1.

RUNNING 10K

London Spring 10K

Sssssssssssso ya gal did her 10k in 59 mins 30 secs! I was dribbling, confused and very sweaty but I did it all without stopping and I was proud of myself. I am going to write a little post about training for a 10k and what I learnt along the way V soon. Half marathon next maybe? Who has done one before!?

2.

DATE NIGHT (AND ALADDIN!)

What I had been waiting for for SO LONG. Matt and I had date night starting at Pizza Pilgrims (my absolute fave) before heading to the theatre. Aladdin is my fave Disney film of all time, I listen to the soundtrack on the reg, watch the film (maybe too) often and legit have a Jasmine figurine on my bedside table. I know, o b s e s s e d. The show was good, I LOVED the genie, but for us it was a bit too panto. Have ya seen it before… What did you think?

3.

GIRLY SLEEPOVER

Brunch Pancakes

A few weekends ago, I invited the ladies up for a sleepover at my gaff. We ordered pizza, drank a lot of wine and caught up on life until the early hours (AHEM, 4AM). Even though I am 24 years of age, I don’t think I will ever grow out of loving sleepovers. This was our brunch the next day, we attempted waffles in ma next waffle maker but it all went VERY wrong… So pancakes it was!

4.

PARK LIFE

OH LONDON, you are just SUCH a babe when the sun comes out. The city comes to life, frappucino’s are guzzled and the parks are packed with happy Londoners. Luckily I have a park just opposite my office, and a picnic blanket at hand for whenever I fancy it. Erry day I have spent my lunch hour chillin’ in the park, and it has made the biggest difference to the way I feel – amazing what 30 mins of fresh air / no screens can do for ya innit?

5.

GOING HOME TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT

Isle of Wight St Helens

We ventured down to the Isle of Wight one weekend and it was bliss. The sun was shining, we had the most delicious lunch at the Garlic Farm, ran along the beach, howled at Eurovision and chilled down at my beach hut. Even though it costs an arm and a leg to get there, there’s no place like home (I had the red slippers and everything) hehe.

6.

DINNER AT BA.RN, INSTITUTE OF LIGHT

A few weeks back, I ventured east to the Institute of Light in the POURING rain. I heard on the grapevine that there was a new foodie in town, and there was homemade cheese involved. Come to mama! BA.RN has launched a Brazilian BBQ tapas of dreams in the Institute of Light. I was treated to culinary delights such as Coalho homemade cheese (kinda like halloumi, but better), crispy Tiapapia fish, beet-hummus & baby veg, glorious focaccia  and lots of cider. Such a beaut evening! If you ever find yourself far east, check it out – you are gonna love it.

7.

THE BIG LONDON BAKE

The Big London Bake

Oh ma days. This was just SO much fun, I chatted about The Big London Bake on my latest post – but thought it deserved an extra shout out. If you miss GBBO and fancy channeling your inner Mary Berry with your chums, you will LOVE this pop up.

8.

BUBBLEOLOGY

Last month at the Blogosphere Magazine Pamper night, they very kindly gave me a Bubbleology black card. A FRIGGIN’ BLACK CARD. The swag I feel when whippin’ it out is quite something. I have meeting my gal Josette for after work bubbles for the past three weeks and it has been blissful. I am slowly and surely making my way through the huge menu!

June is shaping up to be preeetty busy. I am getting ma hurrr did (finally), there all sorts of celebrations, birthdays and fingers crossed a load of sunshine too. OH and fingers crossed I am going to start back on the weekly vlogs once more AAAAAAY. I am here if ya fancy a ganders at ma mug.

What were your loves this month? How is your June lookin’ so far?

Ix

Come say ‘ello over on my Instagram, Twitter, Bloglovin, YouTube and Snapchat (immymay) teehee.

    Lucy | Forever September

  • Congrats on the 10K – I would definitely recommend a Half Marathon (I’m biased though as did one last month) as the sense of achievement after is so immense and you can justify pizza for days afterwards too!

    All about the pizza life!
