Happy sunny Monday! How was your weekend?
I hope it was filled with ice cream, V. cold beverages and maybe a BBQ or two. Mine was partly spent down in Winchester throwing a surprise engagement picnic party for my best gal pal and a *fragile* roast with friends on Sunday. It was ROASTing hot (see what I did there heheh), but apazza this roast is the best in London, so we couldn’t miss out.
A couple of icy diet cokes to start. A guilty pleasure summer bev fo’sho.
I also picked up my sassy new Olympus Pen with the 45mm lens yesterday. I had to whip her out and have a play around – she is a game changer. It has made me all excited to get out there and shoot some sexy lookin’ blog fodder.
I realise a roast dinner isn’t a priority of yours right now, but I couldn’t wait till this g l o r i o u s weather passes (fingers crossed it won’t for a while) to share this gem with you.
The Kenton is a little out the way in Homerton, but it is so worth the journey. Such a beaut pub with a dreamy beer garden, crazy interior and the loveliest staff.
Just look at this frosty glass of Rosé. What I would do with a glass right now (it is currently 11:32AM, but it is 5 o’clock somewhere, right?)
The highlight of this place is the roast. But more specifically, the veggie roast. Vegetarian grub is definitely improving, but The Kenton have got it spot on. Just look at this bad boy…
Mushroom and nut wellington with roasties, yorkshire pud (perfection), braised red cabbage, broccoli in a stilton and cheddar sauce (ooft), crushed swede and carrot, steamed greens, parsnip crisps and gravy. COME TO MAMA.
SO. BLOOMIN. GOOD.
After a pretty severe food coma, we made our way back home (food babies in tow). We grabbed a fan (ESSENTIAL) and a pot of lemon sorbet, then spent the evening spread out on the sofa watching Love Island. What has happened to me? It is weirdly addictive / hi-larious thought, isn’t it?!
