Current Beauty Faves

winter beauty faves

Sooo I don’t do thaaaat much beauty over on mi blog.

Talking about skincare and products I love doesn’t come particularly naturally to me. I am much more of a sit down n chat about life / cake kinda gal. But y’know, as winter has been pretty darn tough on my skin, I thought I would share a few of my staples witchu, just in case you were having a bit of a mare too.

I have always found that simple, natural products work best on my skin. Nothing fancy, no luxury, just gems I pick up from the high street.

Garnier Cleansing water

First up, my <3, Micellar water. I have been no.1 fan of this stuff for a couple of years now. SO amazing and gentle for removing makeup. Oh, another tip – pick up your cotton wool pads from the baby section in Boots. They are much bigger and SO much cheaper. eeeeyyyy sneaky >:)

Biona Raw Virgin coconut oil

The world and his dog know about the magic of coconut oil. It is friggin’ amazing and you can use it erry’where. Moisturise with it, remove delicate eye makeup, clean your mouth / whiten your teeth, put it in your food. No nasties, just straight up oilz innit. I have had a bit of a mare with eczema this winter. Although it is ruddy hard to get rid of, I have found that massaging in a splodge of coconut goodness into it each night is V soothing.

Holland and Barrett Vitamin D

So this ain’t too much of a beauty thing (although vit D is pretty good for your skin too). Howevs, as you may suffer from a bit of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), these supplements may do wonders. Giving ya an extra dose of vitamin D (that we absorb from the sun) should make you feel a little brighter. Even if the skies are grey and dark, fingers crossed you feel less anxious and a little more like yourself <3

Lush Rosy Cheeks

I mentioned this babe in my January Love list. LUSH is just a d r e a m. I have found this Rosy Cheeks face mask to work WONDERS on my skin. It is super soothing and smells absolutely divine. Ya gotta try it out.

Sukin cream cleanser

I have also mentioned this bae in a previous Love List. Ma beaut Sukin cleansing vegan goodness has almost run out, but I will definitely be grabbing another. The cream smells like almond cake mixture and it has really made such an improvement to my skin. It is also super affordable from Boots at only £7.95. Aw yeaaah.

Vaseline

Obvs had to put the classic Vaseline in here. Not gonna lie, I prefer the aloe vera flavour but it’ll do. I am the queen of chapped lips, so gotta have one of these babbies in ma bag at all times.

Immy May beauty favourites

I am always on the look out for new beauty gems to try out, what have you been loving recently?

  • Love how you have lots of natural skincare goodies Immy! The Sukin cream cleanser sounds lovely. I’ve been using a mix of French and Korean skincare products and it’s been working out well :)

    Have a lovely weekend xx

    • Ah thank you Hanh my love :) I really like using the most natural products possible, I feel they work wonders! Sukin is a dream, it just smells SO good! Oooh very nice, I need to branch out a little maybe. Would ya recommend any? Immy x

      • I like using Caudalie :)

    • It is SO dreamy, I wish you could smell it through the screen haha! It is amazing isn’t it?! I have been using it religiously for yeaaaars now! Immy x

  • When I was growing up, my mumma made me eat a tablespoon of coconut oil every morning (for anti inflammatory and general ~health~) and I’m so pleased to find out it’s made it way to the mainstream now, ha! I used to love Sukin as a teenager as well, it’s accompanied well through my heavy acne-prone days and is wonderful for sensitive skin. I’ve been doing something called the 5-step pat where I pat essence (love essences) into my face five teams for my routine and it’s amazing for getting your skin moisturized and plump!

    • Ah that is such a great habit. It really is just SO good for you, I wish we did the same thing from a young age. Oooh that is amazing, what essences do ya use?! I would LOVE that. Immy x

      • I just finished using the Skin Food (Korean brand) Sugar serum and really liked it, but a lot of Western brands have it too – Jurlique, Aurelia (smells amazing!) or if your serum is thin enough in terms of consistency you should be good to go as well :-) REN’s emulsion is fab for layer too

  • I love, love, love my Micellar water too! It’s so soothing, I find! xx

  • Charlotte

I think it is official, I am the only one who dislikes the garnier micellar water, I cannot get on with it, it doesn’t remove anything! Well maybe a pea sized amount of foundation…I carry lip balms with me everywhere they are an essential for me to live my daily life haha! I’ve just followed you on bloglovin as I’ve loved reading this post!
    Charlotte / Charlotte’s Picks

    • Ah but that’s ok Charlotte! I definitely think there are so many varying opinions where it comes to skin care and what works! There are so many raved about products out there that I don’t get on with at all! Oooh yes V good idea, I need vaseline at all times – my lips are awful in the winter! Thank you my love :) Will check out your blog too! Immy x

  • Hayley Rubery

Love this post girl! The Garnier Micellar water is an absolute dream, so affordable and I use it daily! Vaseline is a fail safe too, I always have a lip balm of some sort in my handbag as my lips get so dry at this time of year!
