November Love List

November, you sweet, warm mug of spiced goodness.

The past month has been spent mostly frolicking in the autumnal loveliness, relaxing with friends over large glasses of red wine and roasts, weekends away with fam and a few exciting bits and bobs too.

I feel like I have really embraced the seasons this year. Going with ole Mumma Nature and enjoying the little nuggets of happiness each new season brings. Or maybe I’m just turning into even more of a basic b*tch? I’m not too sure, but I like it.

We have been #blessed with a few glorious golden blue skied days, but we have had our fair share of rain ‘n’ grey too. The woes of darkness by 4PM is a right mare and I know pesky SAD (seasonal affective disorder) has been about for a few you of. Uh, England u such a charmer, naaaaat. If you are struggling with a bit of SAD, grab some vit D supplements. They will help keep anxious feelings at bay and give your body and mind what it needs whilst the sun isn’t around. Or maybs book a ticket for OZ, pack your bikini and bask in the sunshine for a few months? A gal can dream.

Here is what I have loved this November, enjoy!

This month I have read two books, which is pretty darn impressive for me! Both written by women who have conquered the business world in unique and creative ways. Sophia Amoruso is just an absolute badass who also bought the book Girl Boss (all time fave) into my life. It really is a must read. Nasty Galaxy is also wonderful, but more of a desk dweller or coffee table gem for when you need some girl power.

The wonderful Estee Lalonde published Bloom: Navigating Life and Style back in October and I have been meaning to read it since. I have had it for a few days and can’t put it down. Such a beautifully written book, it is honest, makes ya weep, makes ya laugh and is sweet, sweet nectar for us gals in need of inspiration. Absolute babes, the both of em.

I am always proud of my friends and fam, but I have been feeling especially happy and proud for a few lovely people recently. My boyf Matt who works hard as well as studying for a masters on top of other bits, he is an inspiration and seeing him succeed just fills me with happiness. Also two close friends who have just opened a Portuguese restaurant down in Somerset. We visited at the weekend and it was the best thing to see them have so much success, also the food was top notch. Seeing people reach goals and mile stones is one of the best things in life.

I was invited back to my old university as a guest lecturer earlier in the month. Not only was is a blast from the past and comfortingly nostalgic, but I was so honored to be asked.

I talked to 2nd year students about blogging and the industry, and although I have a long way to go, I realised that maybe I have come further than I once thought. It is so easy to compare yourself to others and forget about your own journey, so I took a moment to feel proud of myself and what I have achieved so far. I will be returning early next year for some more It went so well, and I will hopefully be returning to take a few more lectures early next year. Woo! I have written all about my Q&A here.

Hands down the best thing that has happened to 2016. I have LOVED this series so much, the most beautiful images of our beaut planet… It is also pretty damn scary at times too (esp. snake scene). If you haven’t watched it, DO IT. So good. #DavidAttenboroughAppreciationClub

I have been on the hunt for a good cleanser for a V long time. I saw this Sukin gem in Boots and thought I would give it a whirl. Sukin is an Australian vegan and cruelty free brand, all the ingredients are natural and my skin is loving it. It smells like cake mixture (maybe just me lol) and is the perfect lil addition to my skin care regime… pfffft like I even have a regime! If you are looking for a subtle cleanser, I would definitely recommend this stuff.

I finally treated maself to some sassy af over the knee boots. They definitely make me feel like some sort of powerful gal boss about town, they also do wonderful things to the simplest of outfits. LBD, big coat, scarf, hat and over the knee boots? Ready to rock ‘n’ roll gal, you can do anything with those beauties on your feet.

Matt and I ventured east to Taste of London for our first proper taste of Christmas. We had SUCH a wonderful afternoon, sipped on the most g l o r i o u s gin mulled cider, gobbled the most comforting truffle mac ‘n’ cheese, more cheese and tasters from all the delicious stalls. There was live music, lots of mulled beverages and merry people! We came away feeling super festive and happy indeed.

Here’s to the most festive month of all, I can’t wait to have my first mince pie of the season, go Christmas tree shopping with Mumma, adorn the flat in fairy lights and play lots of games / eat lots of food with my family. Let’s make the most of our last four weeks of 2K16, eeep!

What have you been loving this month?
