Autumn in Notting Hill

OH ello autumn, ya cheeky lil thang.

Only last week I was basking in the sunshine with an ice cream in one hand and a Pimm’s in the other, this week it’s all about PSL’s, cosy evenings and life pretty much revolving around GBBO. Yaaaaaaaas.

The summer months were dreamy, but I am ready for some autumn loving. I’m such a sucker for seasons and autumn is BY FAR my fave of them all. I know summer isn’t technically over until the 22nd, but I think it is A OK to get involved from the 1st, right?

There’s just something so lovely and comforting about this time of year. The fact that rubbish weather isn’t disappointing, it’s cosy and the crisp, sunny days are an added bonus.

Recently the word hygge seems to be flying around the place at the mo and I am completely obsessed.

It doesn’t quite translate in English but it pretty much means cosiness, a Danish ritual of enjoying life’s simple pleasures. That could be as simple as having friends or family over for dinner or lighting candles and snuggling down with a pot of tea whilst it’s all miserable n gloomy outside. Sounds lovely doesn’t it?

Oh yeah, we tried a PSL #basicandwot, and u know what? It wasn’t great. I KNOW, the thought of a steamy pumpkin spice latte warming my hands on a crisp autumnal day make me weak at the knees, but Starbs just aren’t doing it for me. It is far too sickly sweet and I reckon I could whip up a much nicer bev at home.

What are you looking forward to this Autumn?

Snaps by the lovely Fifi Newbery. Isn’t it a dream going to pretty places with other bloggers? No Instagram Husband woes and a mutual understanding of the importance of a good pastel wall. hehe.
