I love a life chat. Snuggling down with cake / tea / cocktails (all three) and having a right old chinwag about everything and anything.

Lately when catching up with pals, the hot topic of conversation has mostly been about the mental life as a 20 summin’.

The funny thing is, half the time I’m attempting to adult and trying to get my sh*t together, the other half I’m in my dressing gown, watching Aladdin and eating party rings.

So many people feel pretty lost in these years. Feeling like they should of made  different decisions back in school, feeling like they should have dropped everything and traveled, feeling like they should be trying harder. A lot of the time we are trying to do 102385 things at once, get our knickers in a bit of a twist and forget why we started.

Although sometimes it doesn’t feel like it, I think it’s a really good thing to feel a bit all over the place, it is healthy to question yourself and how you want to spend your life.

Your 20’s (and all ages) are about experimenting, exploring and a whole load of trial and error.  A bit of uncertainty opens up opportunities to take chances and strive for what you really want, whatever that may be. Maybe that’s working round the clock to achieve your dream job, jumping out a plane in NZ or y’know, watching all the Netflix in bed. If that is what floats ya boat at the time then there’s nothing wrong with that.

“No matter where you are in life, you’ll save a lot of time by not worrying too much about what other people think about you. The earlier in your life that you can learn that, the easier the rest of it will be.”

Sophia Amoruso, #GIRLBOSS (and ultimate girl crush)

Surround yourself with the people who bring you up, make you below laugh and who inspire you. Try your best to not worry about what others think, everyone has their own opinions and that’s alright, but if they judge you for what makes you happy then woteva. Life is far too short to shape your life around what other people consider right / normal. You do you.

One important thing I have learnt is to always celebrate the small wins. It could be the most simple things like getting that email sent, shooting that blog before work, making that call you have been putting off, celebrate it. Go out and treat yourself to an iced latte and a cheeky almond based pastry because you deserve it. It’s those little pats on the back you give yourself that will inspire you to carry on, ya get me?

I guess what I’m trying to say in this blog post is that we are all in the same boat. All hustlin’, still not knowing quite whats going on but just going with it anyway. The most important thing is to big each other up and support one another. We are living in a crazy ole world (especially at the moment jayzooos) so spread smiles, love and prosecco.

Cheers for the top notch snaps Oscar May.

My dress is from Forever 21 and may just be my new fave summer (pfft) garm… And it’s only £19.

As always, feel free to come and say ‘ello over on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Bloglovin and Snapchat (immymay)
