MUD, Tooting

MUD, Tooting

There ain’t nothing better than discovering a top notch brunch spot. Especially when it is around a five min stroll from your bed.

This weekend after miserably failing dry January (it was never gonna happen), me and the boyf were feeling pretty worse for wear. All hangovers require the following, in this particular order:

  1. HAUGE glass of water
  2. Tea
  3. Paracetamol
  4. The comfiest clothes
  5. Brunch

As we are new kids on the block in Tooting, we are still feeling our way around town. We stumbled across MUD.

Through the window we spotted glorious plates of food, good lookin’ coffee and happy people so we joined the queue of hungry, hungover Londoners who had brought fold up chairs and errything – it must be good.

Once we were sat, first stop was coffee.

Smooth and delicious, the kinda coffee that doesn’t need even a hint of sugar.

It seems like the menu changes pretty often, and I will make it my mission to try everything on it each time.

Whilst pondering our very important brunch decision, we shared a smoothie – I can’t remember what was in it, but it tasted fresh and full of aaaaall the nutrients.

Unable to make a decision, we went for three.

To start the brunch classic, smashed avocado on sourdough, poached burford brown eggs, crumbled feta and poppy seeds.

Just take a few moments to appreciate this..

Complete and utter #YolkPorn.

Swiftly moving onto wild mushrooms with pork sausage, sourdough, caramelised red onions, poached burford brown eggs and parmesan. Ooooft.

Finally for my fave, the french toast. Banana bread, roasted banana, espresso caramel sauce, sour cream and a sprinkling of pistachio.

Heaven. On. A. Plate.

No wonder this place has oodles of awards, it really was one of the best brunches I have experienced in London yet.

We left feeling full and very happy!

If you are knocking about South West London one morning and need some tummy lovin’, definitely give MUD a visit. Brunch is available till 3pm every day and I did also clock some sexy looking pastries which I need to try.

Find em’ at 141 Mitcham Road, Tooting, SW17 9PE.

  • It makes me so sad that Exeter doesn’t have the same food scene as London! I need places like this in my life!! That yolk is incredible, I need to learn to poach my own eggs to the same standard! xxx

    • Ah man, although Exeter is SO beautiful – I was there over the holidays :) next time you come to London you have to visit! I know, I am terrible at poaching eggs – the boyf seems to have mastered it – the advice is: fresh eggs is key, use a small saucepan, make sure the water boiling, use a shallow mug to gently pop the egg in the water – then just leave it for 2 mins! Hope that helps hehe. Immy x

  • This place looks incredible. I’ve gotten really into Brunch lately, I definitely want to try this place next time I’m in London!
