Today is the launch of the Cereal Killer Cafe.
Alan and Gary Keery are combined mastermind behind this new kid on the block. Since they announced the launch of the cafe they sells only cereal (and a few Pop Tarts) the news has spread like wildfire across the interwebz, answering the nostalgic dreams of reminiscent (cereal lovin’) 80’s ‘n’ 90’s kids around the world… Are you shreddie for this?
You will stumble upon this little cave of breakfast wonders down Brick Lane (I mean c’mon, where else?) It will tempt you in with the hum of 90’s chooons and a glimpse of the oodles of cereal boxes yo’ Mumma would never let you buy winking at you from the counter. The 8 year old inside ya is almost peeing with excitement. Let me show you around…
That’s right folks, a cheerio Dexter portrait.
I popped down to their press day yesterday to have a ganders, a spot of cereal and a guided tour from the boys. They talked me through how they have pretty much become masters of Ebay and the art of cereal memorabilia hoarding over the past year after their lightbulb moment on a hungover morning craving nothing but a bowl of cereal. A simple idea that has probably crossed the minds of many, but these guys made it happen.

They searched far and wide for erry’ cereal you could possibly imagine from all corners of the world – we’re talking all the sweet lookin’ cereal we saw on those American TV shows, this place ain’t about Weetabix and Branflakes – Gary and Alan are taking cereal gobbling to a whole new level with all the trimmings. Cereal cocktails, cakes, 30 different types of milk AND toppings. Dayyummm.
When I heard the news that there was a cereal cafe coming our way, my excitement levels reached around 1039849% then quickly plummeted as I realised, oh wheat a minute – most cereal is full of gluten. But not to worry folks, these guys have gotcha.
Gary talked me through the gluten free options, they have got a load of GF cereal, my favourite being Chex, all the way from the U S of A – it comes in a load of different flavours, I went for Vanilla Chex paired with bright pink strawberry milk that comes in mini glass bottles so you aren’t faced with the cereal:milk ratio problem.
Corrrrr look at that, absolutely ludaCRISP. Alright, I will stop milking it now.
The ultimate milk pouring money shot right there…
I’m definitely coming back to this place and bringing all my friends, make sure you pay a visit next down and have a bowl next time you’re in the east endz, it’s cerealsly good. (I just had to)
